Teach-in, regroupant des parents uniques de 27 associations, se tient à Sherbrooke, sur la problématique de la situation de monoparentalité.• Création d'un comité provisoire pour mettre sur pied une organisation provinciale en vue d'améliorer les conditions de vie des familles monoparentales. Septembre 1974• Création du regroupement provincial : le Carrefour des associations des familles monoparentales du Québec (CAFMQ).• Les associations se donnent des moyens de sensibilisation, d'échanges et de revendication pour l'amélioration des conditions de vie des familles monoparentales.Montréal est choisie pour le siège social.• Le CAFMQ compte 39 associations au Québec représentant environ 7500 membres, en majeur partie des parents bénévoles. Dossiers (suite):• Participation, à titre d'intervenante, dans la cause «Éric c.Lola» visant un meilleur encadrement juridique des conjoints de fait (de la Cour supérieure en 2009 jusqu'en Cour suprême en 2012) Janvier 2013: Décision de la Cour suprême.Il faut préserver le libre choix de se marier ou non, mais 5 juges sur 9 estiment que les dispositions du Code civil qui n'accordent pas le droit alimentaire aux conjoints de fait sont discriminatoires.Avril 2013: Mise sur pied du Comité consultatif sur le droit de la famille.Octobre 2013: Rapport du Comité qui conclut à l'existence d'un décalage significatif entre le modèle familial reconnu au Code civil du Québec et les différentes formes d'unions et de familles du Québec d'aujourd'hui.
