En relisant la poésie de Monette, on se rend compte de l'omniprésence du lieu commun, et en particulier dans le recueil Là où était ici (2011), qui fera l'objet de cette étude : expressions figées, proverbes, maximes, mais aussi images-motifs, jeux de mots qui tournent mal.Monette saborde le lieu commun, lui insufflant de ce fait une seconde vie, qui refuse de se plier au pronostic de la forme figée.Le lieu commun détourné reproduit dans la forme ce que Monette donne à voir sur le fond : un travail de sape, mais pas de destruction, car si l'édifice de nos croyances est ébranlé dans ses fondations, il tiendra après le passage des bourrasques que lui fera subir l'auteure, fissurant le ciment de l'idéologie séculaire.
