Abstract
O presente estudo teve como objetivo pesquisar relações entre as características das informações contábeis e as características das empresas do setor de pet shop localizadas na cidade do Recife a partir da percepção de seus gestores. Esta pesquisa foi operacionalizada por meio de uma amostra composta por dezesseis empresas. As variáveis consideradas foram referentes às características das empresas e às características das informações contábeis. Para atender a pesquisa, foi elaborado um questionário fechado, composto de dez questões. Após a elaboração do questionário, realizou-se um pré-teste com gestores de três das empresas pesquisadas. Para a análise dos resultados, foram utilizadas três técnicas estatísticas distintas para a análise dos dados coletados, a saber: Estatística descritiva; Teste U de MannWhitney; Coeficiente de correlação de Spearman. Os resultados da pesquisa indicaram a presença de isomorfismo a partir da evidenciação da ausência de relações estatisticamente significativas entre os dois grupos de variáveis considerados.
