Enseignante de théologie et d’éthique et fondatrice de la collective L’autre Parole, Monique Dumais tient une place majeure dans l’histoire de la théologie au Québec. Un regard rétrospectif sur son oeuvre importante révèle toute la profondeur et la portée de son éthique féministe et solidaire, mettant en lumière la valeur de l’expérience d’être femme, dans un contexte de foi chrétienne. Remettant en question le patriarcat, elle a su élaborer une éthique et une théologie féministes revalorisantes et autonomisantes pour les femmes. Ses représentations positives des femmes réaffirment son engagement pour plus de liberté et de droits pour les femmes, par le biais d’une confiance inébranlable en la justice et l’Esprit vivant, le souffle de la vie.
