Abstract
La période révolutionnaire a promu la reconnaissance des héros, citoyens et soldats, militants engagés dans les armées, selon des modalités totalement inédites. Cette « fabrique des héros » peut être ainsi suivie dans ses évolutions, ses objectifs et ses échecs, puisqu’elle bute sur les rivalités entre porteurs de cause en héroïsation, avant d’être simplement récupérée politiquement par le régime puis par un homme, Bonaparte. Reste cependant la marque indélébile de ce moment qui façonne les mémoires et crée des exemples.
