Résumé Il y a deux ans a eu lieu en France la toute première « rencontre détenus-victimes » (RDV) consistant à mettre en présence, dans une dynamique de rencontre de groupe en contexte carcéral, des personnes détenues ainsi que des personnes victimes se rencontrant pour la première fois. Cette expérience a été inspirée d'une pratique québécoise en vigueur depuis la fin des années 1990 et que cet article a pour objectif de présenter. Vues du Québec, de telles possibilités de rencontres autour de crimes qualifiés de graves résultent d'une initiative sociocommunautaire bénévole et prétendent rester indépendantes de toute rationalité pénale ou carcérale, bien qu'elles en soient tout à fait complémentaires.
