Abstract
L’imaginaire au sens de Castoriadis peut promouvoir ou bloquer l’institution d’un faire collectif porteur de sens. Ces dynamiques ont été étudiées par la littérature existante à l’échelle de la société dans son ensemble et à l’échelle de petits groupes de travail. Cet article montre comment les institutions sociales secondaires, intermédiaires entre la société et les groupes de travail ont une influence sur les imaginaires maniés. Un Conseil départemental maniant un imaginaire du « tout quantifiable » figé et imposé de l’extérieur provoque de l’agressivité de la part de directions d’associations. Un Conseil départemental animant une dynamique où l’imaginaire et les règles sont élaborés collectivement provoque une saine régulation de l’engagement affectif des salariés de terrain. Les directions d’association se saisissent de cette dynamique autour d’objets de travail partagés, et les singularités trouvent leur place dans les collectifs de travail.
