Abstract
Cet article analyse les conséquences éthiques pour l’archéologie et les archéologues induites par le processus de mondialisation capitaliste et l’intégration du patrimoine archéologique comme une ressource au sein de l’économie de marché. Nous effectuons une réflexion théorique sur la situation actuelle ainsi que sur les questions et repositionnements des différents acteurs dans ce processus à partir de notre participation au débat suscité autour de la déclaration de la Quebrada de Humahuaca (Jujuy, Argentine) comme Patrimoine de l’humanité en 2003. Finalement l’alternative d’une archéologie durable est ainsi évaluée comme une forme possible de transformation pour l’archéologie.
