Je tiens tout d’abord à remercier Jean-François Sabouret qui m’a invitée à participer à cette table ronde consacrée à l’œuvre de Katô Shûichi. Je parlerai de l’hypothèse éminemment heuristique de Katô Shûichi selon laquelle l’« ici » pour l’espace, et le « maintenant » pour le temps, constituent des concepts fondamentaux de la culture japonaise. Katô Shûichi a puisé ses exemples dans une grande variété de domaines de la culture japonaise : langue, littérature, comportements, religion, archite...
