Este ensayo profundiza en la labor de creadoras españolas nacidas en ladécada de los treinta del siglo pasado y lo que significó abrirse paso en unaépoca dominada por valores profundamente machistas. Se analizan algunashistorietas de Isabel Bas Amat (n. 1931), creadora de la serie Ana-Emilia y sufamilia. Presenta un panorama de otras autoras como María Pascual (1933-2011), que fue la maestra del cómic romántico, y Carmen Barbará (n. 1933),conocida por dibujar el personaje de la serie de la reportera Mary “noticias”.El artículo cierra reflexionando sobre la labor de Purita Campos (n. 1937),conocida por el personaje de Esther.
