Abstract
L’article décrit une expérience d’inversion de tendance : le moment où l’on transforme une école que beaucoup considéraient comme une zone sinistrée en un centre d’excellence. Il est ici question de partage de gestion, d’inclusion et de confiance. L’auteure relate la façon dont elle a fait passer une école de l’échec à une école de l’excellence et comment elle a engagé les élèves et le personnel dans une dynamique de transformation. Comment elle a permis à des enfants que les inspecteurs jugeaient imperméables à tout enseignement de se voir reconnus pour leur conduite « remarquable ». Enfin elle montre comment ce qu’elle a appris dans cette école lui permet aujourd’hui d’instiller du changement dans le système éducatif anglais grâce au Chartered College of Teaching (Institut agréé de formation d’enseignants).
