Abstract
LCD PANEL market from Chinese manufacturers, LG Display is seeking to strengthen its monopoly position in OLED TV displays by investing a further US$2.6 billion (3 trillion South Korean won [KRW]) in the Generation 10.5 (Gen 10.5) plant in development in Paju, South Korea. The new round of investment, announced during the company's second-quarter earnings call, builds on the $3.8 billion the company already invested in the Paju plant dating back to 2015.
