Abstract
Le présent article, à travers la description des caractéristiques du système politique hondurien, tente d’interpréter les raisons à l’origine des nombreuses crises dont le pays a été le théâtre au cours des dix dernières années, favorisant les variations des identités politiques et le développement d’options autoritaires ou néo-populistes. Prolongeant notamment les réflexions de Charles W. Anderson et de Mario Posas, le texte propose d’identifier les principaux « concurrents pour le pouvoir », leurs interactions et leurs tensions. Le système des « concurrents pour le pouvoir » est ainsi utilisé comme le modèle qui permet de déchiffrer les nombreux défis auxquels le Honduras est aujourd’hui confronté. L’article peut enfin servir de point de départ pour contextualiser le phénomène nouveau des « caravanes de migrants » et les récents conflits entre les partis politiques et les différents secteurs de la société civile organisée.
