Abstract
El presente artículo examina la ambigua relación del arte secuencial con lasfiguras maternas. En particular, analiza los mecanismos de silenciamiento einvisibilización de las madres en los cómics y las novelas gráficas, así como surecién estrenado protagonismo en el contexto neoliberal y postfeministaactual. De esta manera, resalta la toma de la palabra por parte de una seriede personajes que, a partir de las Mujeres alteradas de Maitena, pasando porlos relatos semiautobiográficos de la artista chilena Marcela Trujillo,desmitifican la maternidad, mostrando las luces y sombras de esta complejaconstrucción cultural.
