Abstract
C'est à Rome, au poids du papier, lorsqu'on dispersait en 1845 les objets d'art du cardinal Fesch, que Bernard Mancel put acquérir sa colossale collection d'estampes, estimée à plus de 50 000 pièces.L'exploration de ce fonds tentaculaire, légué à la Ville de Caen en 1872, se poursuit depuis lors et permet aux conservateurs du musée des Beaux-Arts, à la faveur de regroupements significatifs, d'utiles coups de projecteur sur l'œuvre de graveurs peu ou mal connus, en parallèle des opérations matérielles de conservation que réclament certaines pièces.Cette fois, c'est une série d'estampes qu'apparente une commune origine bolognaise, mais entre lesquelles se dessinent aussi quelques filiations esthétiques, du XVI e à la fin du XVII e siècle.
