Abstract
Depuis plusieurs années, des recherches originales, menées par plusieurs spécialistes, ont permis de faire progresser de façon significative les connaissances à propos des vagues d’immigration française au Canada pendant la période de 1870 à 1914. L’ouvrage Transposer la France intègre les résultats de ces recherches récentes dans une nouvelle synthèse. Sa parution fournit l’occasion de mettre en lumière les apports historiographiques de tels efforts collectifs. Ceux-ci présentent de nettes spécificités territoriales, à la fois en France et surtout au Canada, où des mouvements migratoires distincts ont touché chacune des régions du pays.
