Abstract
The promotional material described a tour of East Africa that included visits to a 20-kilometre-wide volcanic crater, the Great Rift Valley, the Serengeti Plains and exotic Zanzibar. Under the auspices of the GTAV, the tour was scheduled for January 2012. The trip was led and very effectively organised by Barrie Jones whose experience and expertise ensured that, at the end of 12 excellent days, the 16 travellers had seen all these highlights and much more.
