Abstract
On the 24th of November, 2012, the Australian Museum will open a major exhibition: Alexander the Great: 2000 Years of Treasures. The objects in this exhibition illuminate the art and culture of Alexander's conquests and empire and dramatically illustrate the influence of Alexander's legacy through the ages. This block buster event showcases over 400 objects from the fabulous antiquities collection of the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg. The Australian Museum is the only Australian venue to host the exhibition which will be on view until April 2013.
