La siguiente selección de poemas pertenece a la obra Wind and Wood. Word Sonnets / Viento y madera. Sonetos de una palabra / Vent et bois. Sonnets d’un mot / Vento e madeira. Sonetos de uma palavra, del poeta canadiense Seymour Mayne. Este volumen de poesía es el resultado de un proyecto de traducción conjunto que se llevó a cabo en Argentina, Brasil y Canadá con la coordinación general de la profesora y traductora María Laura Spoturno y el asesoramiento de Seymour Mayne. La versión en francés fue realizada por Véronique Lessard y coordinada por el profesor y traductor Marc Charron en la Universidad de Ottawa. En cuanto a la traducción al portugués, esta fue responsabilidad de la profesora y traductora Maria da Conceição Vinciprova Fonseca del Centro Universitário de Volta Redonda. Finalmente, la versión en español fue realizada en el seno de talleres de traducción poética coordinados por María Laura Spoturno en los que participaron alrededor de sesenta estudiantes de grado y adscriptos de la cátedra de Traducción Literaria 1 de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. A través de la traducción, Wind and Wood / Viento y madera / Vent et bois / Vento e madeira hermana la fina poesía de Mayne escrita en inglés con nuevos espacios poéticos dándole voz en español, francés y portugués.
