Abstract
Mue par la même révolte et le même désir d’émancipation que plusieurs intellectuels de sa génération, Jeanne Lapointe participe du large mouvement des années 1950 qui prépare l’avènement de la modernité au Québec. Elle réclame la liberté humaine sur plusieurs tribunes en valorisant « une morale de l’intelligence » dont le but est de déconstruire toute forme de dogmatisme. Par sa vision humaniste de la littérature, de la critique et de l’éducation, la première femme professeure titulaire à la Faculté des lettres de l’Université Laval confronte le traditionalisme religieux, qui s’essouffle. Cette période marque le début d’un parcours exceptionnel consacré à la liberté artistique, intellectuelle et sociale au Québec.
