Вестник Брянского государственного университета.2019 (4) 98 УДК 94(71)+94(73)+289.3Прилуцкий В.В., доктор исторических наук, доцент, Брянский государственный университет имени академика И.Г.Петровского (Россия).МОРМОНСКАЯ ОБЩИНА В ПРОВИНЦИИ АЛЬБЕРТА В ХХ в. 1 В статье характеризуется развитие мормонской общины в канадской провинции Альберта в течение ХХ в.Мормоны -члены Церкви Иисуса Христа Святых последних дней оказали большое влияние на развитие Канадского Запада в ХХ в.Переселенцы из США принимали участие в колонизации неосвоенных территорий, основали десятки поселений в южной части Альберты.Мормоны занимались преимущественно сельским хозяйством в канадских прериях.Провинция Альберта стала крупным центром животноводства и производства пшеницы, ячменя, рапса, свеклы, овса.Во второй половине ХХ в. она пережила бум в нефтяной промышленности и превратилась в один из наиболее густонаселенных регионов Канады.Исторически Альберта являлась главным центром Церкви Иисуса Христа Святых последних дней в Канаде.Многие высшие церковные руководители были выходцами из данной провинции.Мормоны Альберты, несмотря на связанные с многоженством конфликты в начале ХХ в., в конечном итоге успешно интегрировались в экономическую, культурную и политическую жизнь канадского общества.
