New Woman, « femme nouvelle » ou « garçonne », ces désignations renvoient toutes à des figures d’un féminin nouveau genre qui, dès la Belle Époque, circulent librement dans l’espace public tout comme elles occupent les affiches publicitaires, les magazines féminins, la scène littéraire et l’écran de cinéma au fil du XXe siècle naissant. S’appuyant sur les notions d’androgynie et de jeux de rôles genrés, l’analyse porte sur les recueils de nouvelles de R. Vivien et de C. Cahun qui regorgent de protagonistes perturbatrices de l’ordre social, moral et sexuel.
