O objetivo do presente artigo é demonstrar, e também particularizar, a ineficácia das políticas públicas vigentes de ressocialização de menores infratores no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Ao longo do presente estudo será discutido o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA) e questões como a pobreza e criminalidade. As políticas socioeducativas oportunizam a reintegração do menor ao ambiente social, contudo, apesar da institucionalização de políticas públicas voltadas para o combate à violência, criminalidade e desigualdade, os programas vigentes encontram-se longe de atender de maneira específica os objetivos aos quais se destinam, apesar Doutrina da Proteção Integral.
