Abstract
Présenté lors d’un colloque interdisciplinaire soulignant l’intégration en 2017 de l’Institut d’études religieuses à la Faculté des arts et des sciences de l’université de Montréal, ce texte aimerait rappeler à très grands traits quelques-uns des liens étroits qui ont uni la philosophie à la religion et la théologie. Il souligne d’abord la dette infinie, immémoriale et en un sens douloureuse de la philosophie envers la religion, qui a pensé et célébré avant elle l’idée d’un ordre et d’une beauté du monde, puis la dette de la théologie et de la religion elle-même envers la philosophie quand elles ont voulu exprimer leur message de salut dans le langage de la raison.
