Comme l’air, le son accompagne chaque instant de notre vie, mais trop souvent à notre insu. Les valeurs des sociétés contemporaines conduisent les individus à accepter l’inflation sonore, voire à la rechercher. Face à ces constats, une prise de conscience dès le plus jeune âge par l’éducation semble la voie du bon sens. Visant à former les acteurs d’une société plus « harmonieuse » dans laquelle l’ouïe serait réhabilitée, il semble urgent de promouvoir des valeurs respectueuses des environnements sonores, à commencer par celles inhérentes aux établissements scolaires, et de contribuer ainsi à un meilleur équilibre des relations personne-société-environnement. Cet article s’appuie sur une expérience, « approche de l’écologie sonore adaptée à l’école », pilotée par l’auteure au sein de l’école primaire du Collège international Marie-de-France à Montréal depuis la rentrée scolaire 2017.
