Abstract
L’article vise à mettre en lumière la manière dont les quatre œuvres d’art reproduites dans le roman Cercle (2007) de Yannick Haenel, insérées à la trame diégétique, peuvent être appréhendées comme des objets littéraires possédant une signification plus complexe que celle qui pourrait leur être rattachée de prime abord. Plus précisément, il s’agit de voir comment ces dernières, au-delà de contribuer au progrès narratif du roman, premièrement, résonnent avec l’expérience vécue par le narrateur dans la fable et figurent chacune un geste spécifique ; deuxièmement, évoquent quatre puissances de la fiction ; troisièmement, rendent compte d’un discours sur soi de la part de Haenel, de dispositions posturales propres à son œuvre et à l’image d’écrivain qu’il souhaite donner de lui. En somme, il est question de montrer comment les quatre images agissent comme des suppléments au texte, de manière rayonnante et dynamique.
