PME manufacturières créatives : le rôle des propriétaires-dirigeants

Abstract
Pour demeurer compétitives, les PME manufacturières doivent être créatives et innovantes. Seulement certaines d’entre elles relèvent ce défi. Malgré cette importance de la créativité, elle demeure peu étudiée au sein des PME, surtout des PME manufacturières. Comme le propriétaire-dirigeant joue un rôle central dans le développement des capacités créatives de son entreprise, nous avons choisi de nous intéresser à lui. Nous avons donc étudié le cas de cinq PME manufacturières québécoises créatives. L’analyse ne nous a pas permis de dégager le profil type d’un dirigeant de PME manufacturière créative, mais a confirmé le rôle de catalyseur joué par ce dernier. Les résultats tendent également à montrer que les PME manufacturières créatives sont dirigées par des propriétaires-dirigeants à « double personnalité », c’est-à-dire ayant une capacité d’ambidextérité. C’est ce qui expliquerait en grande partie pourquoi certaines PME manufacturières peuvent être qualifiées de créatives.
