À la croisée du milieu communautaire, de l’école et de la famille, un rôle de médiation tend à se définir depuis quelques années au Québec, celui d’intervenant école-famille-communauté. La réflexion présentée dans cet article découle d’une recherche dans laquelle des intervenants scolaires communautaires interculturels [ICSI] endossent un rôle de médiation école-familles immigrantes. Six intervenants ont été rencontrés dans le cadre d’entrevues semi-dirigées. Nos résultats illustrent l’apport du rôle de médiation pour favoriser les collaborations école-familles immigrantes et mettent en lumière des effets non désirés qui peuvent en découler. Notre article permet de s’appuyer sur travaux menés dans d’autres domaines que celui du scolaire pour anticiper les défis et les facteurs pouvant influencer la mise en œuvre du rôle de médiation école-familles immigrantes.
