Abstract
Souvent perçue comme une possible pratique de développement territorial ou comme un objet culturel, la promenade relève d’enjeux divers (touristiques, patrimoniaux, sociaux) et pose la question de la participation des populations. Cet article s’attache tout d’abord à saisir la promenade à partir d’une approche épistémologique, en cherchant à comprendre les enjeux soulevés par ce dispositif pouvant être abordé en croisant les perspectives (conceptuelle, sémantique et théorique). Ensuite, l’objectif est de montrer comment la promenade apparaît comme un médium artistique et littéraire, à la fois « acte et support », un dispositif de narration de l’espace qui met en scène un imaginaire des lieux, une cartographie des interstices de la ville. Enfin, au gré de quelques déambulations sur les territoires français et québécois, la promenade devient aussi un « espace hodologique » (Besse, 2004), une forme d’interaction sociale et collective, à travers sa dimension sensorielle et corporelle, visant à créer du lien, à partager les lieux, à fabriquer des souvenirs.
