Abstract
Pour les Premières Nations, la guérison est un processus de changement à la fois global, collectif et décolonial qui a pour but de faire face aux fractures sociales et aux déséquilibres qu’ont engendrés les siècles de colonisation. Le présent texte porte sur le potentiel de guérison du territoire chez les Innus d’Uashat mak Mani-utenam. En s’appuyant sur les récits de plusieurs membres de la communauté, les auteures montrent que le territoire permet de maintenir en vie l’identité et la culture innues et de s’attaquer au malaise identitaire. Le territoire est considéré comme ayant un effet positif sur les relations familiales et communautaires, ainsi que sur les liens intergénérationnels qui sont au coeur des processus de transmission culturelle. Il est aussi conçu comme bénéfique pour les Innus en tant qu’individus pour qui le territoire est un lieu de ressourcement, voire un lieu doté d’un pouvoir thérapeutique.
