La empresa Parmalat de Colombia S.A.S., es una multinacional encargada de la producción y comercialización de productos lácteos, que se ha destacado en el sector por su calidad y las diversas categorías que ofrece a los consumidores. Luego de realizar un diagnóstico preliminar, se pudo identificar dentro de las deficiencias administrativas, el manejo tradicional que le da el centro de distribución de Parmalat de Colombia S.A.S. a sus operaciones logísticas, afectando de esta manera el flujo de caja y la rentabilidad de la compañía, ya que se perciben pérdidas por ruptura en la cadena de frío, generando además, improductividad, tiempos muertos, altos costos, diferencias altas en los inventarios, quejas de los clientes, errores en despachos, afectación del nivel de servicio, etc. Por consiguiente, el grupo investigador busca determinar un método de inventario que sea adecuado para implementar en la compañía Parmalat de Colombia S.A.S.
