Abstract
Dans cet article, nous examinons l’effet des facteurs d’âge et de sexe sur l’alignement des tons hauts (H) associés à l’accent final du groupe rythmique en français spontané parlé en contact intense avec l’anglais en Ontario. La langue anglaise présente un alignement tonal plus stable que la langue française, ce qui nous fait aussi nous demander si la situation de contact linguistique affecte la réalisation des pics mélodiques en français minoritaire. Les résultats de l’analyse indiquent que les locuteurs plus jeunes et les femmes réalisent les sommets mélodiques plus tard que les participants plus âgés et les hommes. Dans la variété étudiée, comme dans des variétés en contextes majoritaires, la zone de la réalisation des tons H reste relativement large bien que l’on remarque une tendance à son rétrécissement. L’hypothèse de l’influence de l’anglais dans la réalisation du pic tonal en français minoritaire en Ontario ne peut donc être complètement réfutée.
