Abstract
Persalinan di rumah merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi masih tingginya Angka Kematian Ibu (AKI) di Indonesia. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengalaman ibu melakukan persalinan di rumah di wilayah unit IX Kecamatan Rimbo Ulu Kabupaten Tebo Jambi. Jambi merupakan wilayah dengan tingkat persalinan ditolong tenaga kesehatan tanpa melalui fasilitas kesehatan paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan wilayah lainnya di Sumatera, yaitu 37,21%. Hal ini tentunya menjadi persoalan tersendiri bagi para tenaga medis yang ada untuk meminimalisir angka kematian ibu dan anak dalam persalinan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengalaman ibu melakukan persalinan di rumah di wilayah Unit IX Kecamatan Rimbo Ulu Kabupaten Tebo Jambi. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi dengan subjek penelitian ibu yang memutuskan untuk melakukan persalinan di rumah. Subyek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 7 orang partisipan inti dan 5 orang partisipan pendukung sumber data primer dan sekunder diperoleh melalui studi lapangan dan studi analisis penelitian ini menggunakan model Colaizzi dengan instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti itu sendiri. Hasil: 1) dapat melahirkan di rumah merupakan peristiwa yang menyenangkan bagi ibu, 2) keterbatasan alat dan kemungkinan terjadinya komplikasi menjadi sumber kekhawatiran ibu, 3) Ibu mendapatkan sosial support yang kuat untuk melakukan persalinan di rumah, dan persalinan di rumah merupakan keputusan bersama.
