Abstract
Cet article montre en quoi la distinction effectuée par Genette entre péritexte et épitexte est un moyen pour mieux qualifier le rôle des énoncés qui circulent autour des médias informatisés. Considérer les discours promotionnels de ces médias comme des épitextes, permet de leur conférer un rôle de guide interprétatif des pratiques sans en surestimer l’effet. En tant que paratexte situé dans un autre espace matériel, les énoncés publicitaires ont comme particularité de graviter autour des médias informatisés tout en y étant liés par leur fonction pragmatique auprès des publics. Cette fonction de guide interprétatif est d’autant plus essentielle pour l’interprétation des médias informatisés qu’elle repose sur un important processus de figuration qui convoque en permanence la mémoire des formes culturelles.
