Abstract
Cette étude présente deux caractéristiques importantes des marchés d’assurance dans le monde. Le premier aspect est la relation entre le développement de l’assurance et le développement économique qui a été évaluée dans de nombreuses études empiriques. Le deuxième est l’importance de l’assurance dans le contexte de la libéralisation des échanges commerciaux et de la globalisation des activités financières. L’analyse proposée dans cet article démontre cette relation par le biais des investissements directs à l’étranger comme moteur du développement des marchés.
