Abstract
Les enseignants religieux français ont laissé leur empreinte au Québec au début du XXe siècle. Leur venue en grand nombre suite aux lois Combes a permis aux congrégations religieuses françaises de se renforcer. Au travers de l’étude de quelques frères issus des communautés des frères des écoles chrétiennes et des frères de l’instruction chrétienne nous avons un aperçu de leur vie au Québec. Les principaux résultats de cette enquête nous apprennent que la constitution de communautés locales françaises est une résultante de ces arrivées massives. De plus les frères français ont permis une amélioration des activités scolaires et périscolaires ainsi que le développement des missions à l’étranger.
