Abstract
Dans son article intitulé « Une approche centrée sur la personne de la Schizophrénie », van Blarikom présente plusieurs arguments pertinents et intéressants. Toutefois, le présent article conteste un de ses thèmes centraux, à savoir que les praticiens centrés sur la personne et expérientiels devraient accepter que la schizophrénie soit une maladie. En effet, cet article présente des recherches réfutant la métaphore de la maladie prônée par la psychiatrie biologique et soutenant les modèles sociaux et psychologiques. Il est avancé que la philosophie et la théorie centrées sur la personne et expérientielles sont essentiellement en accord avec la psychiatrie sociale et la psychologie, elles-mêmes critiques du modèle pathologique de la schizophrénie, et que les thérapeutes centrés sur la personne et expérientiels se trouveraient davantage marginalisés s’ils acceptaient les conseils de van Blarikom.
