L’article présente une technique d’analyse des intentions contenues dans les interventions thérapeutiques qui permet d’en mettre en évidence le contenu psychologique profond. La technique comprend un dictionnaire des intentions des interventions thérapeutiques, une classification des intentions, des marqueurs d’intention et des instructions pour son application. Une présentation des résultats d’une recherche appliquant cette technique à des sessions thérapeutiques de Carl Rogers est ensuite développée. Les résultats les plus importants de cette recherche sont la mise en évidence de la part proéminente, dans les interventions de Rogers, d’une intention tendant à favoriser l’exploration de soi, qui aide la personne à se comprendre elle-même, à établir sa relation à soi, à trouver du sens et à créer un contact plus grand avec ses ressources internes et son soi intérieur.
