Abstract
En Ontario comme partout au Canada, un discours à caractère préventif visant particulièrement les jeunes s’est invité dans les champs des services sociaux et de santé. Il incite au recours aux pratiques fondées sur les données probantes, dont la psychothérapie, pour intervenir auprès des enfants et des adolescentes ou adolescents ayant des comportements perçus comme étant problématiques ou à risque. De telles approches sont souvent prescrites pour prévenir les problèmes de santé mentale chez les jeunes. Dans cette perspective, cet article analyse les processus menant les travailleuses et travailleurs sociaux qui oeuvrent dans des écoles secondaires francophones en Ontario à appliquer des approches d’intervention visant à gérer les comportements des élèves. Fondée sur une approche théorique et critique agençant la notion de biopouvoir aux théories de l’étiquetage, la recherche dont rend compte cet article s’intéresse dans une perspective microsociologique aux discours de travailleuses sociales participantes et aux rôles de divers actrices et acteurs dans la mise en oeuvre de la récente stratégie en santé mentale du gouvernement de l’Ontario.
