Abstract
Das Montreal-Protokoll verbot die Produktion dieser FCKWs, und die Löcher in der Ozonschicht schlossen sich langsam wieder. Im September verbreitete ein UN-Bericht die frohe Botschaft, dass das Ozonloch bis zum Jahr 2050 ganz der Vergangenheit angehören könnte. Aber die Gefahr scheint trotzallem nicht gebannt. Ein internationales Forscherteam, darunter auch Wissenschaftler des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie, hat seit 2007 über der Nordhalbkugel eine Zunahme von FCKWs von bis zu drei Prozent pro Jahr gemessen. Dr. Thomas Blumenstock vom Institut für Meteorologie und Klimaforschung vermutet, dass dies mit einer verlangsamten Zirkulation in der Stratosphäre zusammenhängt. Möglicherweise eine "Nebenwirkung" der globalen Erwärmung. Radio KIT Redakteurin Kathrin Kreusel hat mit ihm gesprochen.
