Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This field guide provides an overview of the geology and structure of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin and the Foothills, Front Ranges, Main Ranges, and Western Ranges of the Canadian Rockies between Drumheller, Alberta, and Golden, British Colombia. We examine World Heritage site fossil locations at Dinosaur Provincial Park and see some of the very best dinosaur remains at the Royal Tyrell Museum; we stop to see trilobites and soft-bodied Burgess Shale fauna at the Mount Stephen Quarry and at the Walcott Quarry. We travel deep into the heart of the Canadian Fold and Thrust Belt, ending at the Rocky Mountain Trench. We pass through magnificent glacially carved landscapes and examine how the thrust belt deformation changes depending on the lithology, thickness, and strength of the rocks being deformed. We discuss local history, oil and gas exploration in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin and Foothills, and mining in the Rockies.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
