Cette étude entend remettre en question le modèle traditionnel des Dictionnaires étymologiques en proposant de substituer au modèle archéologique un modèle « rhizomatique ». Celui-ci permettrait de mettre en écho trois langues, en l’occurrence ici le français (et son « origine » indo-européenne), l’hébreu et l’arabe. Initiée à partir d’une expérience didactique centrée sur des étudiants bilingues (arabe-français), cette remise en question procède d’une vision inclusive des familles de langues, trop souvent séparées par des tranchées ségrégatives peu propices à la mise en évidence de liens entre ces familles de langues.
