Cet article s’intéresse à la « vieille » carte de hockey de Léo Gravelle, un ancien joueur du club de hockey Canadien de Montréal, de même qu’aux pratiques culturelles réalisées par son entremise. Par le biais d’une approche inspirée des cultural memory studies- et particulièrement de celles qui ont développé des réflexions sur la matérialité des objets souvenirs et des traces du passé-, il s’agit d’identifier différentes trajectoires de la carte et d’interroger comment le passé de cette ancienne célébrité est réactualisé par l’entremise de cet objet populaire. À partir d’une entrevue et d’une analyse médiatique qui a recensé les événements publics au sein desquels cette carte de hockey a refait surface, le but est de mettre de l’avant comment cet objet incarne et réarticule, à l’échelle d’un individu, certaines manières de faire déjà bien établies au sein d’une culture sportive nostalgique. Ainsi, en étant la fois un objet de mémoire, mémoriel vivant et un marqueur d’une célébrité passée, la carte de hockey de Léo Gravelle contribue à chaque fois qu’elle est mobilisée, à le rendre encore là et surtout encore signifiant en tant qu’ancien joueur de hockey vieillissant.
