Cette étude s’inspire de la soif d’un théâtre vivant d’Antonin Artaud (1896-1948). On commence par la recherche des points de contact entre le théâtre de la cruauté et la liturgie chrétienne dans la perspective de l’appel à la participation active. Ensuite, on interroge la transcription philosophique du geste artélien opérée par Derrida (1930-2004) et, notamment, la portée liturgique de la critique théologique du théâtre, c’est-à-dire, la critique de la teneur théologique de tout théâtre représentationnel. On conclut en revisitant la question du statut des médiations sensibles, dans le but de consolider l’intuition d’un changement culturel plus ample au sein duquel on peut situer l’intérêt pour l’immédiateté symbolique et rituelle qui caractérise autant les propositions d’Artaud que celles de la théologie liturgique naissante.
