Abstract
L’Histoire du Judo au Canada fut publiee dans sa version originale en 1998 par Glynn Arthur Leyshon pour souligner le 40e anniversaire de Judo Canada. Aujourd’hui, Nicolas Gill propose une mise a jour de cette histoire qui tient compte des nombreux developpements durant les vingt dernieres annees de cette discipline sportive encore meconnue. Le nouvel ouvrage contient desormais des biographies de 26 heros et heroines du tatami, 22 biographies de pionniers et bâtisseurs de meme que plusieurs sections sur l’arbitrage canadien et international, le developpement du judo chez les femmes, le demenagement du Centre national de Judo a Montreal, et le repertoire des kodansha canadiens. On trouvera aussi la liste des tournois internationaux au Canada de meme que des donnees d’archives sur les differents groupes de medailles. Un texte de reflexion sur l’avenir du Judo au Canada clot cette nouvelle compilation.
