Abstract
Je me propose de revisiter la notion de vertu chez Aristote ; elle a traversé les temps et les cultures, et elle se trouve aujourd’hui au coeur même de ce que nous appelons l’éthique des vertus. Je soulignerai ce que cette notion de vertu a de juste, ce qu’elle a d’incontestable. Une comparaison avec la vertu chez Kant nous fera saisir ce qui fait la richesse du concept aristotélicien. Comme ce concept a non moins une faiblesse qui explique des impasses dans l’éthique, j’indiquerai la correction nécessaire qui s’impose. Ici, nous serons en compagnie de Thomas d’Aquin.
