Abstract
Cet article examine l’éducation pour la santé de la reproduction des femmes vivant dans un milieu rural au sud-ouest du Togo. Nous appréhendons, à travers une approche critique, les implications des pratiques éducatives en santé de la reproduction. En nous appuyant sur une analyse des discours et directives formelles au Togo et à l’international, ainsi qu’aux données ethnographiques issues d’un travail de terrain réalisé au Togo en 2015 et 2016, nous examinons ici la réaction de ces femmes après l’introduction d’une nouvelle éducation pour la santé de la reproduction dans le milieu. Alors que les nouvelles pratiques sont présentées souvent comme un rempart contre les pratiques traditionnelles existantes, cet article démontre que ces femmes utilisent certaines méthodes biomédicales en complément des méthodes traditionnelles. D’autres méthodes biomédicales sont perçues comme difficiles à utiliser. Pour une meilleure santé reproductive de ces femmes, leur consultation et implication s’avèrent nécessaires dans les politiques et programmes visant l’éducation pour la santé.
