Abstract
Comment persister culturellement et linguistiquement lorsque la migration fait de nous des individus doublement minoritaires? C'est la question qui est posee dans cet ouvrage qui se penche sur une presence kabyle dans un Montreal multiculturel. La langue berbere, le tamazight, constitue le symbole de la contestation pour la reconnaissance officielle en Algerie ainsi qu'un referent identitaire essentiel et sensible en contexte migratoire. La communaute kabyle quebecoise qui ne cesse de s'agrandir depuis le debut des annees 90 s'organise autour d'activites socioculturelles et politiques. Bien qu'il soit tot pour trancher sur sort de l'« amazighite » version quebecoise, nous pouvons nous interroger sur les manieres d'envisager la poursuite de la lutte pour le maintien de leur culture, en Algerie comme au Quebec. Assisterons-nous a la naissance d'une culture kabyle typiquement quebecois? L'intention n'est pas de repondre a cette question mais d'emettre quelques hypotheses sur l'avenir de cette population dans la Belle Province.
