Il critique des options philosophiques aristotéliciennes et des concepts qui lui sont parvenues par la scolastique (« l’École »), la plupart du temps sans le nommer. Pourtant, à quelques moments clés, il mentionne le nom d’Aristote et fait travailler ce nom avec ceux de Platon et de Socrate. Quels enjeux rhétoriques et philosophiques ces mentions revêtent-elles ? Quelle construction de l’histoire de la philosophie cela produit-il ? Cette article présente et explore ces enjeux et le récit des origines de la philosophie selon Descartes.
