S’appuyant sur les appels à l’action du rapport de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation du Canada, les institutions culturelles doivent faire évoluer leurs pratiques en lien avec le patrimoine autochtone et leurs relations avec les communautés autochtones. Ce texte présente le contexte ayant amené le Canada à remettre en question ses pratiques traditionnelles à cet égard et à s’engager sur la voie de la décolonisation et de la réconciliation. Il présente en outre les enjeux juridiques et moraux sous-jacents à cet effort, ainsi que la vision de Bibliothèque et Archives Canada qui le sous-tend.
